Matt Brown's Biography
Matt Brown was born near Minneapolis, Minnesota to Mark and Tami Brown. Third born among three brothers, with mostly Italian and German heritage. He was raised with a deep faith in a genuine Christian home. His parents set a strong example of the Word of God, prayer, serving the local church, family values, strong work ethic and sharing Christ with others.
His father was a computer engineer for most of his life, but in 2000 started a small business with his son Dan called Reach Communications. Reach Communications has grown and gone on to bring audio installations for many churches and business across the midwest US as well as hosting large scale events for clients such as The White House, Brother Andrew and Open Doors International and International Justice Mission as well as many major Christian recording artists.
Matt gave his life to the Lord at the age of four, later rededicating his life to the Lord at age thirteen. He sensed a call to ministry since the age of eight, only later at the age of seventeen feeling the specific call to be an evangelist.
His parents enrolled he and his brothers in the private elementary school Medicine Lake Lutheran Academy (now Heritage Academy) near the Twin Cities where stayed until 9th grade. He attended Delano High School for the next four years. During this time, starting around his Junior year, several of the Catholic youth in his town began to hold a worship night in which they were experiencing a powerful move of God. Matt attended soon after and already 60 students were worshipping together in a town with a High School of only 650 students. Nearly 10% of the youth worshipping the Name of Jesus together. Matt soon joined the group, by that time composed of students from most major denominations: Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Evangelical Free, Assemblies of God, etc. The crowd continued to grow, packing out the small coffeehouse on River Street in Delano - Common Grounds Coffee House. Students worshipped in the back room for stocking supplies and behind the sales counter - while others arrived to find no room and deciding to leave. They recognized their need for more space and requested from the Principle the use of the Public High School auditorium. Their request was taken to the school board and granted. For the next several years 400-600 students packed the Public High School auditorium for a night of worship that was labeled Monday Night Jam. The most impacting part of Monday Night Jam was the evident Presence of God. Students were giving their lives to Christ by the droves each week, without a single sermon being preached. The Holy Spirit was present convicting these young people of their sin and directing them to salvation in Jesus Christ. Several students were physically healed in worship - a girl who was deaf in her left ear, a young boy who had dyslexia - healed in worship by the Presence of God. During the climax, the Principle shared with them that for an entire year there was literally zero disciplinary problems in the entire High School - this in a generation littered with school shootings. This student led, interdenominational revival deeply impacted Matt and eventually Michelle, and has been a catalyst for their calling to ministry and faith in God.
Towards the end of his Senior year in High School Matt sensed a call from the Lord to preach on his lunch table. Many in his school had experienced the power of God during Monday Night Jam, but his heart was burdened that every student get a chance to hear a credible Gospel presentation while he was still there. He followed through with this vision, preaching his first two real sermons ever - first and second lunch. Strangly, students clapped and cheered following both speeches. Nearly fifty students came to him afterwords to pray to accept Christ and many more were impacted.
Matt went on to attend North Central University in training for ministry, majoring with a four year degree in Pastoral Studies, and a minor in Biblical Studies. He was heavily involved in outreach and missions, personally leading hundreds of people to the Lord on the streets of Minneapolis, Urbana and New Orleans, as well as training others to do the same. After his Sophomore year at North Central he began to travel and preach full time, keeping a consistent schedule through the rest of his collegiate years.
He married Michelle Denyes in May of 2005, the love of his life and his best friend, and they continue to work closely together in ministry.
They have gone on to found Think Eternity as an organization in late 2005, and a registered Non Profit in late 2008. Think Eternity serves as the evangelistic and mission based covering for their ministry, together with it's phenomenal board of advisors. To date, Matt and Michelle have traveled and preached from coast to coast across the US and around the world, preaching for hundreds of churches in around 30 US states, as well as several other countries of the world. They have communicated the Gospel to tens of thousands of people face to face, and hundreds of thousands more through online and print articles and radio. Over 10,000 people have made decisions for Christ in these meetings. They have also seen hundreds of people receive physical healing after simple prayer in the Name of Jesus. They have also directed thousands of dollars to humanitarian needs in various parts of the world, including fresh water wells in India, malaria treatment for Burmese refugees, shoes for Latin American street children and more.
After five years of writing and study, Matt's first book Revolutionaries: Men and Women in Every Century Who Advanced Christianity was released. It contains a century-by-century look at Christians who took the Good News of Christ to tough areas of the world. He also began blogging in 2008, bringing their ministry reach to tens of thousands more from nearly every continent in the world through the web.
