The Golden Rule in Evangelism

I've been thinking that one of the best ways to share your faith is ... the way you'd want someone to share Christ with you.

Before you chose to follow Christ, what could someone have said to you?  This requires a little contemplation and looking back at your own experience:

  • Would you have hoped someone would've come with some background research and study on your spiritual questions?
  • Would you have wished someone would have been patient and gentle with you?
  • Would you have wished someone spoke with you directly, or rather subtly by buying you a good book or something?

Of course, there is Paul's wisdom to become all things to all people. This requires us to think beyond ourselves.

However, there seems to be a whole lot of wisdom in following the golden rule - do to others what you would want them to do to you - in sharing our faith.
