Does God Even Care?

Have there been times in your life where you cried out to God, wondering if He was listening attentively to your cry?  Maybe you have a burning desire to be used of God, but wonder why it seems He is not making a way for this?  Maybe you have gone through painful times in your life and emotionally you feel sapped and empty?  You sense God's presence, but can't get over overwhelming sadness or exhaustion?

David Wilkerson, a Pastor in New York City, shared some wonderful reminders for us from the Scriptures in a recent mailer from a message of his entitled "Accusing God of Child Neglect."

The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry ... The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. -Psalm 34:15, 17

Cast all your cares upon him for he cares for you. -1 Peter 5:7

Like a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear him. -Psalm 103:13

How precious are your thoughts to me oh God! How vast is the sum of them!  If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand. -Psalm 139:17-18

How encouraging to know that God has made a vigorous effort since the beginning of creation, and over thousands upon thousands of years to communicate through His prophets how much he cares for you and what you are going through today!
