Ministry History

Think Eternity is the evangelistic ministry of Matt Brown, sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and helping people find fulfillment in God.

A Heritage Full of Faith and the Holy Spirit

Matt and his wife Michelle’s heritage is full of rich spiritual roots, and a strong picture of Christians from many backgrounds coming together to lift up the hope of Jesus to the world. It is no wonder their passion is to bring together churches and believers for unified prayer and outreach.

Matt's heritage includes Italian Catholics who experienced the filling of the Holy Spirit, and who were later known to pray for their future generations. Matt’s heritage also includes German Mennonites, including one ancestor who served as the first missionary to China for the Anabaptist Mennonite movement in 1909. Henry Brown spent his life reaching China with the gospel, raising up indigenous leaders for the church, building hospitals that cared for the sick for free, and even spent time in prison for spreading the gospel.

Michelle's family comes from a long line of preachers. One of her ancestors being ordained by John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement. Michelle's grandfather, G. Mark Denyes moved his young family from Canada to the United States, and became the founding Pastor of Emmanuel, an influential church near Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served as the Pastor, followed by Michelle's dad. Together, they led the church for nearly a half century, seeing the church grow from a handful of families meeting in the basement of a home, to what is now one of the largest AG churches in the nation today.

A Ministry Birthed from Revival

Matt and Michelle were both deeply impacted by a several year-long revival that took place among the young people in the town of Delano, Minnesota. This began as a student-led worship gathering called “Monday Night Jam” brought together young people from various denominational backgrounds. For several years, hundreds of students gathered to worship God each week in the public High School auditorium. The presence of God was so powerful, that word spread, and people began driving from hours away to experience what was happening. Many young people experienced a profound realization of the presence of God and conviction of sin, and countless people began to put their faith in Christ. During this time, zero disciplinary problems were reported in the public school over the course of an entire school year.

While studying in Bible College at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Matt began to travel with friends and preach the gospel across the nation. Following their graduation, Matt and Michelle were married, and have continued to preach and do ministry.

A Burden to Live with Eternity’s Values in View

In the early years, Think Eternity was registered as a nonprofit organization, and the name “Think Eternity” was chosen to reflect the desire to “think and live with eternity’s values in view.” This concept came from a nearby ministry that sent out missionaries to many parts of the world. Revivalist and author Leonard Ravenhill spent several years at this missionary sending spot, and was deeply impacted by their passion for the Lord. He would later write about the great need for eternity to be in front of our minds and our hearts as we live out our Christian lives.
